Dr Peter Cole has been a Consultant since the year 2000. He is a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthetics in Oxford. He has had senior roles within the Royal College of Anaesthetists' Faculty of Pain Medicine for over 10 years. He is a member of the British Pain Society, Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine and of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. 

Dr Cole is a pain specialist with a lot of experience. He has been a doctor for 35 years so is an expert in this field of medicine. He also understands the limits of what modern pain medicine can offer and he will give you clear and reasoned advice on the best managment for the pain you are suffering with.

This may start with an explaination for the reasons why you have your pain,using images such as MRI scans that you may have already had. Using a plastic spine and other resources he will describe how best you pain could be managed.

He may consider whether further investigations are needed. He will advise you on best way forward, this may include changing your painkillers, or booking you for injections or other interventions that could help.

He will be able to refer to colleagues for psychology support and physiotherapy treatment when needed.

With a very holistic approach he may have other suggestions such as evidence based nutrition and Tai Chi.
